my first girl friend

People used to tease me that she is my girlfriend and I enjoyed it very much.

when we both were kids, we would play hide and seek. She would always loose the game even though she is capable of locating me from any distance. Such a lovely person she is!

Initially people didn't like the way i was pampering her but i think in a way they got used to it.

She used to behave in a very strange way. She wont leave me a minute. Not even a second. She would sit beside me when I am eating, watching TV. She would sleep beside me. I sometimes used to wonder, "The way she is behaving is as if I am going to die in a day and she wanted to use every second of it."

This behavior continued and it inspired all my family, close friends to call her as my girl friend.

Days passed and I became very busy and am no longer a child to play hide and seek with her. I spent very less time with her but she is used to grab every second of it.

One fine day, I came to know that she died.

Did I cry?

No.

Did I feel bad for being so busy that I rarely spent any time with her?

No.

Whenever I think of her I would just think to myself that she is going to return.

She is called Jimmy, yeah a pet dog.

Some highlights about her

1.) As I told she would never ever leave me not even a minute, as if a gaurdian angel. May b she is.

2.) She died few months back.

3.) Whenever she giave birth to pups, all of them used to die except one. The most helpless moments in my life are the ones when I used to seperate the dead ones from her and the way she used to look into my eyes. May be she is not yet ready to accept the fact that her child died.

4.) She is a coward. yeah, its true. When strangers come she does all the scary stuff barking, jumping blah blah but inside she is scared and the only time I see her courageous is when i am with her. She would then fight with dogs double her size.
Note: My dear Jimmy if your soul is somewhere around me now, no hard feelings that I called u a coward. Remember u r my girlfriend.

5.) She used to behave human in many things, like playing hide and seek, will sleep only with a pillow, will respond to commands etc and I think its because of the way she grew up with me

Dogs!!

They bring so much joy into your life, they are very spontanoeous and no matter how much less time u spend with them, they are always ready to receive u with love. Its painful that many of them wont live more than 9-10 years but the memories they leave last for a lifetime.

i wish Jimmy returns to me one day and dear Jimmy, Your boy friend is still single and is waiting for you.

And this post is dedicated to those angels called dogs, both pet and stray.

PS: Dont get mislead by the title. When I said first I dont mean I have many. You all know by now that I am not made for this thing!!
